Please help me.....

My high school life has been a roller coaster. My freshman and sophomore average gpa was about a 2.3. I was recently diagnosed with adhd in the beginning of my Junior year. My Junior year GPA is currently sitting at a 3.2. Obviously my un diagnosed adhd was the cause of my poor grades. I have two older twin brothers that currently attend the university of south Carolina. It would be my dream to go to college with them, What are my chances of getting in? Also in my essay should i write about my struggle with my undiagnosed adhd? I forgot to mention i got an act score of 26 and will be retaking for a better score.

Ask your GC to talk about your ADHD in their recommendation. Use your essay real estate for something more interesting. Google the Common Data Set for the school and look at GPA averages and test scores for incoming students.

Hi! Im sure that with some professional help you will be able to increase your GPA. You still have half of your junior and your senior year to work on that. I would recommend that you either talk about any interesting extra curricular activities that you have done on your college essay or that you talk about your struggles with ADHD. However, if you do the latter, DO NOT PRESENT YOURSELF AS THE VICTIM. You have to talk about it in a positive way, highlight what you learned from it and kinda present it as a success story (don’t use it as an excuse, colleges won’t like that). U of SC requires a 3.5 GPA, which I am sure that you will be able to achieve if you work hard enough and get professional help for your ADHD. Good luck!
