Hello, I just finished my junior year. And I don’t know what should I do for the college admissions. The interesting things are I moved to America on September, 2019 when the junior year started, so this was my first HS year in America, however, I have the citizenship, so I’ll admit to University of Washington as in state. I don’t have any APs and ECs in my junior year. I couldn’t care about anything else because I was getting used to school. Then the Corona virus happened, so my Sat and school were cancelled, and I just moved to my home country right now. So I can’t do volunteering or other activities. I really don’t know what to do on senior. About Essays or Ecs, give me some information whatever you got, it’ll be helpful for me. I really need your helps. Please help me.
( Sorry for my writing skill. I trying to be good at English, but I’m still not good)
Just in case, I got 3.95 GPA on junior year. I’m going to take Sat if the test is available and take 3 AP on Senior. I wanted to go to UW as a chemistry major. I know it’ll too high for me and it’ll gonna be really hard. But I want to try.
Will you return to the US for your senior year of high school? If so, will you be at the school where you were last year? If that is the case, your own guidance counselor can help you a lot more than we can.
No one has much going on right now for ECs because of the pandemic. Lots of places are still on lock-down. So if you can find a distance-friendly EC that is fine. Otherwise, don’t worry about it. For you, improving your English reading and writing skills so that they are truly college-ready is probably what you should focus on right now.
What are your grades from your high schools before moving here, and what courses did you take? What sort of life experiences did you have these years? Also, what courses and whatever grades you will be getting the first term of your last year in your out ofvUS school will have a significance
Also how much can your parents pay each year for college? Run some NPCs and FaFSa estimators to see what various colleges will be expecting your family to pay. Are your parents in Washington State? If your parents do not have state residency, getting into a school, day Washington State will be on an OOS basis.
