I know this topic is probably discussed frequently, but I would like an honest opinion about my chances of being accepted at Northwestern University. Is it out of my league?

Class Rank: 2 out of 220

GPA: 4.0 unweighted
4.3ish weighted

ACT Composite- 27 yuck

AP Tests:
Calculus AB-5
Calculus BC-5
US History- 4
Government- 3

I will have completed 7 AP classes by graduation (only eight in the school)

Average amount of EC's

Also, how much of a difference does it make if I applied ED? Will it help out my chances any?!?

Thanks and please comment back

altho your class rank is good, so are all the other applicants. 'average' amount of e/cs? define 'average'

ED will help, but its hard to say if Northwestern would accept you or not. I predict a deferral.

Ahh, well the problem is that NU doesn't defer people who apply ED. It's a hit or miss system. You either are accepted or you are rejected unfortunately.

Thanks for the comment!

ED rate is around 48%, and NW takes people with lower stats then too. Still, a good class rank, but that ACT is too low. You have good APs, maybe those (or some sat iis) cold help offset the act. Not out of your league, but act score hurts.

Thanks a lot, Karl Marx (like the name, by the way)

Yeah, I know that the ACT score is most likely the downfall of my application, but hopefully an ED helps out that factor a little?

Who knows

Thanks for the input
