Please help me =[

I go to a huge school, just got my counselor changed and she hasn't called anyone to her office yet to discuss college. I'm really confused about recommendation letters. I already asked two teachers and they both said they'll write it for me.

For couple of the colleges I'm applying to, they accept Common app. Do I just make one copy of the teacher evaluation form per teacher & have them copies? So, this way they don't fill out the same stuff over and over..

For a couple of others, they don't accept Common app & don't have their own teacher evaluation form. Should I include a letter saying "so and so college" doesn't accept the common app form...?

Also, I'm going to leave the return address part blank..or should I put the school's return address?

Thank you!

In terms of the common app, I'd print out copies for each school. If they want to just copy it at the end, fine, but give them a chance not to have to copy it (for whatever reason they choose); this could also help with organization.

For schools that don't have a form but ask for a letter, just make sure you include in your envelopes one stamped and addressed to the school (and maybe stick a post-it on it to say they want a letter but no form).

In terms of the return address, make sure you put one- you don't want it going missing without you knowing. My school has us put our names but school address, but we're a tiny school so it won't get lost at school if it returns. Talk to your g.c. about your school's policy.

But all in all, you need to talk to your g.c. Regardless of whether or not your gc has called you in yet, just make an appointment yourself. Or even talk to another gc.

Thank you so much, I've been stressing about it the past few weeks. I'm going to do the whole post-it thing and when I hand them the envelopes, I'll let them know about it too. For return address, I was thinking of putting the teacher's name? I guess I'll have to ask my teacher.

I really need to talk to my guidance counselor but I doubt it will be anytime soon. All the guidance counselors are pretty much busy [couple of them are new and have no idea what they're doing] & they are calling down groups of seniors at a time to talk about colleges. I really hope I get called down soon or I'm going to lose my mind. Even if I make an appointment, it will be AT LEAST a week until she even acknowledges me and she probably won't even have time to sit down and discuss. (Yes, my school is huge. 2nd biggest in state. I've been relying on collegetalk for college applications)

Anyway, thank you again! :)

Here's another suggestion based on what I did a few weeks ago: when I gave my teachers their folders with forms and such, I also included a letter with it that had a list of what each school wants/requires just so that it's all the more clear; my teachers appreciated it.

Hmm, that sounds more organized too. Thanks.

My counselor called me down today. Apparently she wants the teachers to give her the letters and she sends them out. I don't think I'm going to do it that way because it's not going to be organized at all.
