hello,

I am in dire need of help. I am kinda freaking out right now. I have a GPA of 3.16 (w/u). I really do not want to go to a community college. I have slacked off so much in high school. I did really bad on my SAT (1360) but I will take it over and do better. I got a 19 on my ACT but I will take it over also. I have done alot of extra curricular activities such as more than 500 hours of community, member of many clubs (including being president and VP), I am working, and still in the process of looking for a good internship.

Can you please let me know of any chance of me getting into any 4-year University in California? If so which ones? mostly which UC schools?

Also can you please tell me if there is any chance I can get into:

Syracuse?
U of Minnesota?
U SF?
Purdue university?

Please give me back feed back and I thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Hon, to be quite honest, the last four schools you listed are probably not going to happen. But, if you prep really good and get your ACT up over a 22, you can definately get into a four year univeristy.

However, I doubt it will be a UC that will take you. Why not save money, start at community and work really hard, then transfer? It seems like a good way to get a fresh start for you

yes i know but i do not want to go to community, there has to be some chance to get into a 4 year at least one of the crappy UC’s or something. I heard U of Minnesota was really easy to get into and I know ppl who go there who are did worse than me in high school. Please tell me there is a chance to getting in somewhere??

Can somebody help me. Chance. I’ll chance back!!

okay first off, U of M- Twin Cities is hard as heck to get into short of being a one legged blind african hispanic of low income with a 4.0 and a 36 ACT. The other locations like Crookston and Morris. Are safeties however for anyone. and crookston is apparently a little gem that most ignore. I believe you can look into liberal arts colleges, but the test scores will kill you unless you can get to a test optional place choose not to report and then write stellar essays and show interest. You should look into Gustavus Adolphus College in St.Peter,MN. I go there for a camp and their campus is really nice, as well as they are test-optional. So if you feel your EC’s can outweigh your GPA then you’re fine there. the four schools mentioned however are flagships and are therefore numbers games, which unfortunately a lot fo us dont have.
good luck, chance back.

Can I please get somemore suggestions. I’ll chance back

I don’t see what’s so wrong with going to community college. I have a friend who went for two years and just got into Cornell. However, I would really, really play up your ECs and try to apply to schools that are test optional (like above). Also, study for the SAT/ACT… what were your section scores?
