PLEASE help me

I'm starting to panic a little right now. I'm currently at a csu but am going to a cc starting this fall to hopefully transfer next fall. I'm a bio major right now but am changing it to anthropology. The bio class that I am currently taking here will NOT transfer to my community college. So that means UCs won't accept it either. Will they still see this and how much weight will be placed upon it if they do. (note: again, my cc is NOT taking this credit). Also, my gpa is about a 3.0 right now (a lot of my units here didn't transfer but I'm hoping to raise it during the summer and fall) but I've heard that UCs only really look at grades up until the fall before transferring. So am I basically just really screwed? Someone please help me. Any advise or thoughts that you have would be great!

not all of your classes have to be UC transferrable. the only repercussion you will have is that you will not get any credit for it. Considering that it is not a UC transferrable course, I am not sure if it is factored into your GPA or not though it most likely is.

where did you hear that UC looks at your grade more till fall? Is this true?

I read that in another post here. Can someone please answer my question about the bio course? Will that be factored into my gpa even if it’s not transferable?

@ socal: Yes and no.

The bio course will count as part of your CSU GPA. This will become a part of your overall college GPA. However, it won’t count toward your UC GPA…which is what the UC’s care about. Only UC trans. courses count for your UC GPA. This bio course will be seen by the UC’s that you apply to, but it won’t affect your UC GPA.

The UC’s evaluate your grades through your final fall semester. Meaning for you, you’ll be evaluated through your fall 2010 grades. Thus, you have summer and fall to pull up your GPA. You can definitely do it!

I wish you the best.

@emilsinclair9: Thank you very much for all your help! I really appreciate it!

@ socali: No problem, any time!
