please help my cousin (financial problems)!

My cousin got into MIT, Cornell, Caltech, and Carnegie Mellon for Computer Engineering.

He is an international (Korean) so he couldn't get a lot of scholarship money.
So, he is unable to go to these schools....(Father died because of stomach cancer.)

He is instead going to have to go to either Seoul National University or KAIST (both with almost 100% scholarship). It has been his dream to go to MIT ever since he was little and this situation is very depressing for him.

My family is pretty well off but everything is tied in real estate and we don't have enough time or cash to help him.

Ah.....any advice?

It is extremely difficult for international students to receive financial aid. Your cousin isn’t alone in learning that even with aid, these universities would be unaffordable. Lots of US students are facing these kids of results as well. He was smart to apply to solid safety schools. He needs to choose one of those safeties and not look back. Both of them are very fine institutions.

Wishing both of you all the best.
