<p>For the UC system in particular, What do you guys reccomend?</p>

<p>If I apply ONLY to ucsb, will that look good to adcoms, as opposed to applying to 4 or 5 UC's?</p>

<p>If you apply to 1 UC, you have a 50-50 chance of getting in. If you apply to 4 UCs, you have about a 90 percent chance of getting in to at least 1 UC. It probably has something to do with the 89% stat DanielHagos pointed out. And lastly, I'm not too sure on this, but I've been told by UC buffs that if you get rejected from the 4 UCs you apply to, the UC system automatically takes your app and circulates it around the UCs you didn't apply to, so eventually you (hopefully) end up somewhere. I THINK all of this is done free of service.</p>
