As with so many things: it depends (mostly on the timing).

Did the financial aid office respond to your email?
Not yet, thinking I might call this woman. She said all forms/paperwork had to go to her. I assume she’s busy but wanted to speak w/ her before I finished it. Filled it out as best as I could last night. I have to work a little more, then might get my courage up & call…
OMG the woman from UR called me during dinner. I was so nervous seeing that caller ID! She was very nice and said she just needs to know how I lived, that it was ok if I had help, often times parents help, people get sick, etc. I told her my parents helped but I didn’t have to pay them back, it was a gift. She said as long as it all seems reasonable and makes sense, they can continue the FA review. She said if she has any questions she will shoot me an email but if they get in review & it doesn’t make sense, they will ask for documentation at that point. So it made me less nervous and it seems she has been assigned to be my D’s aid counselor. So if she gets in, it looks like it’s that woman who will award aid so maybe it helped to establish a rapport. I couldn’t help but ask her it it means anything that I was asked to do this, she said no, that they need to be ready to award aid once they are given the names of accepted students. I figured as much but had to ask! She said they are 100% need blind. Thanks everyone for your help, will know in less than 2 wks, yikes!!
^now don’t you feel better? It really was nothing! good luck!
Ha, yes, but still worried once they see what a financial mess I am. And they could award aid based on this income knowing it was an unusual thing, but it’s out of my hands now, just hope she gets in, a bit of a long shot!
