Are there scholarships that don't involve writing an essay or making a video etc...

Are there ones that simply ask questions about your GPA, school, address etc. If so, what is a possible website I can visit.

I am a hard-working student, but my family is kind of in debt at the moment. I dont want financial problems to prevent me from learning at a college.

Any help will be appreciated

Don’t waste your time applying to private scholarships when you need a LOT of money. They’re mostly for frosh year only so you wouldn’t have funds for years 2-4. Also, they’re usually for small amounts, and very hard to get.

Since you need LOTS of money, you need to apply to SCHOOLS that give large scholarships for GPA and test scores. Those are usually for all 4 years.

How much aid do you need? How much can your family contribute?

I see that you’re in Calif and looking at CSUs. Is there one that you can commute to? If so, which one?

Have you taken the SAT yet? If not, that will make it hard to get scholarships.

Do NOT make the mistake of gathering up some small scholarships that are only for the first year, and then think you can afford to go away to a CSU. You’ll likely find yourself out of luck for the following year. And transferring to a commutable CSU is next to impossible

mom2collegekids: thanks for your reply.

I actually wanted to reside in the dorms, and I wanted to attend Cal Poly Pomona. I know what you mean by those scholarships, I think they are called “guaranteed scholarships”. I messed up for not taking the SAT’s yet; i have to still take it in December. However, my GPA is pretty good, it is around 3.8-3.9 ish…

Do you think I would be eligible for these guaranteed scholarships? I couldn’t find a place on the site for Pomona that talked about these scholarships.
