I just got back my sat scores, and i'm unsure as to whether i should take them again. i got a 730 CR, 760 M and 800 W, which adds up to 2290 (my goal was 2300, so i'm pretty satisfied).

However, i really want to go to cornell, and they don't look at the writing score, which is my best score, so my composite is really only a 1490.. do i still have a good shot at cornell? oh i'm an asian female btw.. if that makes a difference.

this is my second time taking it.. last time it was a 2180, but my R+M score was 1470 (so not much of a jump there). There's only one more SAT test date and that's in october of senior year; i don't know whether I should prep for the SAT again or if i should take a couple more subject tests (i've already done bio and math II)

any advice would be appreciated!!

Have you heard of the Common Data Set? http://dpb.cornell.edu/documents/1000530.pdf Cornell’s shows your scores are close to the 75%ile. Your scores won’t be what keeps you out of Cornell.

I agree with the common data set comment. You’re scores are perfectly fine for cornell. Do a good job with your subject tests, keep your GPA up, and have some great ECs. It’s not worth retaking if you’re targeting cornell. Spend your time elsewhere.
