i still find it hard to believe they would take away soemones admission because of a C+ in an AP Physics course, especially a SFS bound student... but maybe im wrong

no to completely hijack your thread, afalcon...

but on the subject of rescinded admission, etc.

do you think if i dropped ap bio second semester it would look really bad? i have the worst/most annoying/truly hated teacher, and i cannot stand wasting 3,600 seconds of precious life every SINGLE day.

haha ok i guess you get that i hate the class... but should i stick it out?

ps seriously though, sorry for hijacking your thread falcon :)

are you taking anything else in place of that class? that usually..is the big No no in like the elite private schools. Don't drop an AP class second sem after you get in..coz it just looks bad. but perhaps you could explain it to admissions? I'd seriously call the office and ask how that would affect your admission decision. I had a friend do that before. Unless you replace it with another AP, I wouldn't just drop...and take a study hall or something?

Guys and Gals, a rescinded admissions is an EXTREMELY rare occurrence. Under normal circumstances, a C or dropped class wont do it (unless dropping ther class would prevent you from graduating on time).

RELAX and DON'T WORRY ABOUT THINGS THAT DO NOT MATTER!!

You don't have to send your midyear report if you were accepted EA. I called admissions and they confirmed it. Just make sure to send them final year transcripts if you decide to enroll.

And for the final year, just try to get that physics grade up to a B-, and if you can't bring those humanities courses up to A's. Bottom line, gun for a GPA greater than 3.0

I had a tough semester, the rest of my body of work ( not only grades, but community involvement, varsity sports, sat/sat2 scores... etcetera) throughout high school does reflect that of an early action admittee. I am writing a letter to the school explaining my recent drop in grades, what I learned from it and how I plan to fix it. And then I'm going to fix it (acutally started already and doing quite well). Thanks for the encouragement though buddy. Nice to know you think im not Georgetown-worthy. Makes you feel all warm and tingly inside.

Excuse me. Please do not jump to conclusions. I am a first year student at University of Delaware honors program who has dreamed of going to Georgetown all my life. I was crushed to not be admitted last year. And you know what? I was involved in the community as much as you say you are, have excellent test scores, and had straight A's my entire high school career. So for me to make a comment about how it is not appropriate to be earning B's and expecting to be admitted to Georgetown is a totally in-line comment. nevertheless, good luck.
