Okay, so I just took the math II subject test, for my third time, along with the spanish with listening (first time). I got 610 the first time i took math, (didnt study at all, totally unprepared), and then i got 690 the second time i took it. This time, i took two sparknotes practice tests, i got 700 and 760 on them, and felt pretty prepared. So i was hoping for 750+. I was planning on taking the math test first, so i could really focus on it, and then take the spanish test after because i knew it'd be really easy and i wouldn't have to worry about (i am hispanic, but i'm not really native, per se; english was my first language, and i am in ap spanish right now). But, apparently you have to take any language with listening tests first, so i took the spanish test, and it was super easy and all, but then when i took the math test, for some reason i couldn't focus, i kept getting stuck on problems and wasting time, and i ended up running out of time. In the end, i had about 10 blanks.. At best, i'm thinking i got 700. How bad would it look if i actually ended up getting lower than 690 (my previous score)? On the other hand, i may have gotten 700 (not really an improvement worth noting, but at least not worse) and then my spanish score is probably 780+. I plan on majoring in engineering... so should i cancel or not??? =[

Can you take the test again? I advise you not to cancel your scores if you expect a very high Spanish score. If you get lower than 690, colleges would simply look at the 690, unless you re-took the Math test and got even higher.

thanks for the reply.
Yes, i can still take the december test, but i was really hoping this would be the last time i took the sat. and i would only take the december test if i cancelled these test scores (because wouldnt taking the math test more than 3 times look bad?), which would mean goodbye to my spanish score. i really dont want to have to cancel and retake, but i mean, i think the math score is more important than my spanish score?

any one else have any input??

Nobody special here, but just thought I’d throw out my opinion since I was considering the same.

I don’t think you should cancel honestly, because thinking worst situation possible, if you got below your 690, then they’d most likely just take your better score. Sure, it may not be as high as you wanted, but then that Saturday would’ve been a waste, and you’re not letting yourself even see your scores before they get here =P

Plus, if you know you did well in Spanish, why cancel them?

Guess it’s up to you to balance the two and see which is more important.
