Please help ! Should I switch my from pre med to economics/business?

Ok so I'm a freshman in college right now. My parents always pressured me to do premed to either become a doctor or dentist or physical therapist. I, on the other hand, hate science and just can't get myself to study freshman chemistry. What does interest me is history, political science, and business. I'm trying to decide whether to switch my major from bio to economics and drop chem altogether. What I would regret is that my university isn't very well known for business ( stony brook) but I could always transfer right?

Also, are job prospects good for economics majors? I've done a bit of research and thought about becoming a financial analyst. Is it impossible to get a job straight after undergraduate or MBA?

Finally, probably the biggest deciding factor is that I'm gay and my parents would cut all ties with me if they found out. This means that they'd stop contributing to tuition and dental/med school would be impossible for me to finish or even pay for.I could probably finish undergraduate while still in the closet ( although very doubtful as I'm going crazy.) even still, a cuny is should be somewhat affordable and the lines wouldn't be that bad to pay off.
Sorry if it is terrible writing, im on a bus now with a whole lot of stress trying to figure out my future. If you could give any advice that would be amazing.
Thanks!

Most undergrad Economics majors are primarily prepping to be graduate Economics majors. It isn’t a field that undergrads go into easily. That said, if you also include a solid business background, an Economics degree can be used to enter lots of business fields. I continue to say on these discussions ‘Be you’. It is your future and not your parents.

Regarding the “Finally” paragraph, have you considered contacting an health services counselor (stress) or your college’s version of LGBT/QSA group?

Also talk to your academic advisor regarding your academic plans. Maybe you could take the pre-med pre-reqs and then start majoring in history./econ/business or something so you have flexibility.
I would think that if you had a major that is leading to a job that your parents would be happy.
