Please help! Sophomore Honors College transfer Chances

I am currently a freshman at an out of state community college. I received a 4.0 my first semester. I took Biology, Psychology, Precalc, Freshman Seminar, and English. In the sprijng, I plan to receive another 4.0 and I am taking Biology, Calculus, Public Speaking, Theater, and History. My SATs were not very good. Math-610 Writing-500 Reading-490. My GPA in high school was a 3.57 with one AP class. I have many extra curricular activities, clubs, and community service hours. I have a very personal and well written essay and I got a very good letter of recommendation from my professor. I know my scores and GPA are low but I answered the essay questions very well. What is my chance of getting into UNC Wilmington Honors College as a sophomore transfer for fall 2013?

Your GPA is fine for the honors college, obviously. Do you know if UNCW has any SAT score reuirements for the honors college? Most schools I know require a two-part SAT score of 1200 or higher.

BlueUkiyo: I called and there is no requirement. I just answered the questions well and hopefully my community and extracurricular involvement will be enough =/. Is the sat a big determining factor?

I don’t really know because I have never applied to an honors college. My guess is that they consider SAT scores quite heavily, but the scores aren’t quite a deciding factor.
