Please Help!- Summer before transferring

I am currently going to be a freshman at the university I chose to attend but I am planning on transferring due to a myriad of reasons. I was wondering if doing nothing the summer between high school and college looks bad on the application. I have tried numerous times to get volunteer opportunities and even applied to pay to volunteer through this program but was rejected because of space limitations and now I have nothing to do and college starts in a month. Any advice?

Thank you very much in advance.

No it won’t.

Could you elaborate…? I mean, if I do nothing over the summer, the application I send in would be no different from what I sent in last year other than my college grades. It wouldn’t be any improvement.
