Please help this really confused re-applicant!

All right so I applied last year and got waitlisted. I got into several schools comparable to Harvard but declined them because I decided to do a gap year. Thus when I reapply, how does my I indicate this on the common app?

I mean I can't put anything under "current courses" can I because well they aren't current. I finished my 12th grade last year not this year. Moreover, since I haven't been part of the "school" since it ended a few months ago I haven't been in touch with my teachers that wrote my recommendations. Thus when I contact them do I have to request them to resubmit my original recommendation or create new ones altogether?

Finally, I was an IB diploma candidate, got my marks but wasn't that happy with them and these marks were due to sever extenuating circumstances (divorce). How would I indicate that I plan on retaking certain subjects and also these extenuating circumstances?

Call Harvard and they will help you with the questions .

Sabals, you have already posted on this forum that you were actually RESCINDED from your comparable college and were, thus, requesting advice on how to move forward. You titled that August 5th thread “Please Help a Desperate Rejected Student.” This newest story is that you were waitlisted at Harvard, accepted to other comparable schools but “declined them because [you] decided to do a gap year.”

Which story is true? It is NOT to your advantage to be demonstrably disingenuous if you want any of your multiple requests for advice to be seriously considered on the forum.
