Ok guys, i am in a profound dilemna, i do not know whether or not i should cancel today's Jan. 22nd SAT I scores...I took the test and iv been looking at the all the answers etc, i left 8 Verbal Blank, and 7 Math Blank (3 of which are from the Experimental Section), so technically 4 Math Blank...I feel with the practice tests i have taken i will most likely get 5 Verbal Wrong and 3-4 Math wrong...this is also considering that i have viewed other peoples' answers and a few are varying...soo now using random conversion score charts from last year...im looking at a rough score between 1340-1390, 1390 best case scenerio, while 1340 worst case scenerio, i was aiming for a 1410+, and im def. taking the new sats in march and again in may/june...so i want to know what i should do and how much harm a 1340 can do if i keep the score (this of course means colleges will see that score when i apply)..the reason i ask is because i am preparing heavily for the new sat and am looking for 2150+.. and im taking a course for it...i kno this is a lot to read but i really need help on deciding whether or not i should cancel todays score, i have 24 hours so PLEASEEEEE respond

btw..the reason i took the old sats was just to see how i would have done and to kinda have a old sat on my back in case somethin goes wrong with the new one..and i am quite upset that this test was recycled from 2003/2001, and that the vocab list from testmasters was 99% accurate, but w/e...if anyone can help please post

I would probably cancel, but depending on how much studying you've done for the old SAT...
since a 2150+ on the new SAT is much better than a 1340-90 on the old.

hm true, on my first practice test for Princeton Review i got a 2000~, but they guarentee like 200 points, and i kno i can do it cuz my verbal is getting better, but does it really look that bad if the 1340-1390 is on ur record?

i have the same dilemma, i want 1500+ but i might be gettin 1400-1500, but i aint cancelling because i kno man that colleges arent gonna pay much attention to that old SAT stuff---THEY WILL LOOK MORE ON THE NEW SAT guaruanteed--if u do well on new one ur old one will be salvaged.

yeah but bro, the thing is that if they have people like me to check up on how the scores are correlating, like if i end up gettin 1360, and i do very well on the new sat 2150+, they are gonna think that 2150 is like a 1360, i dun want that happening, and second off once they know my old score, and anything at all goes wrong with the new one, they'll have this score printed for me from jan in which they can hold me up for...i dun want that either...then again there are positives to keeping the score as well

Do not cause you do not know how exactly you did. but u still have the new SAT you can take, so if you dont like ur current scores then send ur new SAT scores. SO DONT CANCEL IT. trust me.

when you send ur new sat score, ur old sat score comes with it, so colleges will see both sat scores, and holden, they see all ur scores for math and verbal, then they take the best composite, its not like the score comes to them is the best composite score, they see ALL the scores that you have taken, some will mix old and new sat scores, some wont, but they see all the math scores and all the verbal scores

one more thing...if i cancel will anyone at all know that i cancelled, like will the college know that for jan 22 2005 i cancelled on that report form?

why though, i dun understand why it's so bad to cancel, no one has answered my question on whether or not anyone knows u cancelled, and second off i am TERRIBLE at analogies, and quantative comparision is usally where i make my 1-2 math errors in the whole test, in the new ones both are gone, and i prefer sentence completions as well....so i really think ill do well on the new ones, so if i do well, i dun want this stupid jan test to be on my back the whole way through, im in an EXTREMELY competative school, and a 1350 to go somewhere like cornell is tough as hell, i kinda sorta dont want that score to b seen kinda thing...but i read all of everyones' posts and so far the majority are saying dun cancel, can someone say moreover why not to cancel?

ok...i just called up college board and they said no one at all would know my score, and no college would know that i cancelled, my score wouldn't even be SCORED, so...that makes me feel a lil better...now once again...if stupid can give me a response with advice and not an arrogant statement like he has done so far...it would be much more helpful

its not an arrogant statement. its an arrogant statement thaty ou say that you have to cancel your scores because you're not sure you don't know what you got on the sats yet.

go cancel your graduate school tests see what happens.
