So I’m in the process of applying to colleges right now. My school uses Naviance. I had NO IDEA I had to manually send the transcripts via the site (obligatory nobody told meeee whining) so I requested my transcripts a bit late on 11/23.
However USC’s applications are due on 12/1 (and they don’t look at the postmarked dates) and Calarts’ is due on 12/3. I’m not sure my transcripts will get to those schools on time.
In my Naviance it says that my transcripts are “pending”. That means the transcript isn’t even sent out yet right? I’m really screwed.
I’m thinking of running to the post office in monday and mailing the transcripts myself using expedited delivery… hopefully that would work.
I am so frustrated because sending the transcript is probably the easiest part of the application, and I’ve managed to screw that up. I might lose scholarship opportunities because of this and I’m on the verge of crying please help
There’s no need to expedite them. They’ll trickle in and colleges know this. Right now, they’re forming all the folders. Do you think people are furiously working over the thnxgiving holiday? Nope. Your doc coming in on Wed won’t be harmful as long as your app portion is in on time.
When your guidance counselor arrives at work Monday morning, he/she should find you politely waiting outside his office.
I would save the “nobody told me” bit-- the odds are good that there’s a process and that it was communicated to seniors. If not, then it was your responsibility, of course, to ask.
But what you do need to do is ask your counselor to get the info sent ASAP. My guess is that an email from his office, with the transcript attached, would probably suffice. You will, of course, have all the information with you-- the name of your admissions counselor, his/her email address, any student ID or whatever.
Sending your own unofficial copy won’t do it-- they’ll need a copy you couldn’t possibly have tampered with.
OK, now that you’re breathing again, take a look at every other application, every other deadline. What else has to be done this weekend???
