Please Help! Transfer from Emory to WashU, architecture

Hey guys,

I'm a freshman at Emory right now currently on a pre-business path. I haven't had any art classes, but I am 100% sure that I need to go into archicture. I spend hours and hours each day designing contemporaries, tuscan villas, medeteranians, colonials, and eveyrthing else you can imagine. I was originally deferred from WashU ED when i applied last year, but I still would love to go there. Any advice/comments/personal experiences would be great!

My son was rejected as a freshman, not even deferred or wait listed. He did really well in a state school his freshman year and got in as a transfer as a sophomore. He spent alot of his time on his transfer essay and got nice letters of recommendation from 2 of his professors. Please don't give up. Do well this year and I'd say you have a good chance. You seem really focused.

EmilySpinach,
hey! so i am currently a sophomore transfer wanting to go to WASHU. would you be able to post his stats? Or if anything his College GPA when he was a freshman?
That would be greatly appreciated.
I am doing everything in my power to transfer there. I have over 150 community service hours, but i just recently got my grades and now have a 3.4 GPA. I am really disappointed and was hoping to relate.

If by stats you mean his college grades, he had 3 A's and a B the first semester and 3 A's and a B the second. I think what helped him was he had some excellent recommendations and since he had already applied I think they knew he really wanted in. He kept in touch with a transfer councelor at Wash U and kept him informed of what he was up to. My feeling is that Wash U wants students who really want to be there and show a strong interest. I hope this helps. You both seem like what they look for.

thank you EmilySpinach.
gives me a little more hope... you might not know this, but do you think applying summer 08' would be better than applying for fall 08'? i want to get in so i am not sure which one i should apply for! Yeah, i am getting 2 college recs, one from the hospital i am currently working at. I really reallly want to get in!

My recommmendation would be to speak to a transfer person at Wash U. I didn't know that you could apply for summer. I would hate to give you wrong information. Keep us posted.
