Hello,
I am currently enrolled in a local community college as a Freshmen. (IL)

Let me please introduce my situation here before I post my question.

My high school grade was pretty good(I think) which was 3.6-3.7(UNWGT), 4.0/5.0 (WGT), and I got 27 on ACT at that time. But due to military obligation and some personal circumstances, I decided to attend community college for this 2008Fall semester. For upcomming 2009Spring semester I will be attending UIUC, but I am hoping to transfer to my dream school, Northwestern in 2009-2010.

I still have to wait about 3 more days for finalized grades for this semester, but saying that I get 4.0 GPA, can I be considered as a competetive applicant in Northwestern's transfer pool?
My concern is that my GPA is from CC instead of 4-year instituion, do you guys know if NU (even any other top schools) admission considers which school you are comming from?
Combining last summer and this fall I will have about 25 credits done. I know NU will still review my grades for Spring semester from UIUC before making decisions.
I am confident that I will somehow maintain above 3.7 GPA at UIUC but I do not have ECs that stands out nor can't really guarantee how good my recomendations will be.

Assuming these happens, I want to know if I should give it a try.
Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

*The local community college that I am attending now is pretty well known and has high transfer rates in Illinois.
