please help, trying to calculate UC GPA

I'm a recently turned 16 year old girl who lives in Kansas City

Freshman year, straight A's and 4 honors classes per semester

Sophomore year: This one worries me. I was pretty depressed, so I didn't try too hard. H or AP is 5.0 for us. It went
Sem 1
Chemistry: A
Micro/Macro Economics2AP: B
English 10 H: B
Weight Training: A
French: A
Algebra2H: B
European History AP: B
Sem 2
Chemistry: B
Micro/Macro Economics2AP: A
English 10 H: A
Computer Apps: A
French: A
Algebra2H: B
European History AP: B (89.3, I was beyond ****ed)

I also took the AP exams, which turned out a debacle
Now I've JUST begun my junior year. Classes are...
Precalc H, Physics H, English 11AP, Bio2AP, French, US History AP, Anatomy and Physiology.

I'm very motivated for straight A's this year, as well as next year. I am also in the Gay-Straight-Alliance at our school, and I'm working on my recommendations to join National Honor Society. I worked this summer as a Counselor-In-Training for 18 days, and later did a 10 day internship (plan to work for that camp as a counselor next summer). I am not quite sure if some of that is relevant.
Now, I've just found out the UC GPA is calculated though 10th and 11th grade which really concerns me. I didn't care, and I didn't try last year, but I believe now that I genuinely have a dream, I can get all As.

Right now my GPA sits at 4.35 and I rank 32/439 in our class so far.

Any recommendations, tips, and especially chances at getting accepted into Cal if I step it up with grades? I plan on also applying to UCLA. No matter what happens, I have my heart set on living in California.

oh yeah, also do you add a point for every honors class in the UCGPA?

I think I've figured the UC GPA if I do well this year will be about 4.06... which I thought was bad until I calculated the maximum out to be about 4.28

Sorry to be obnoxious, I haven't figured out how to edit

Honors classes that I took were on a 4 point scale. Only AP (and IB if you have them) are on a 5 point scale. The UC website will tell you how to calculate your UC GPA. It's also calculated on A-G courses only. I found the Freshman Letter that CAL publishes very helpful when I was putting the UC app together. Here's the link:
http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/Freshman_07.pdf

Out of state is tougher than in state for admissions at CAL. Only 10% of the 9700 students admitted in '06 are out of state. You need to have stellar stats. Good luck!

I really, really hope I have a chance. Thanks.

California sucks. Go visit for a 1 or 2 weeks before deciding you want to go to school there.

yeah, I planned to visit this spring

Fortunately most people will not agree with him/her. There is no place like CAL. Come visit and make your own decision. You may love it or not.

It sounds like my kind of place, definitely. I believe I'd love it... but I will visit to make sure. I'm mainly worried about gettting in
