Originally, I plan to take a English composition class this quarter so that I can fulfill the requirement. However, I could not get in the class since there is no spot.
After I updated my academic report last weekend, the officer told me that they are going to withdraw my admission.
I am totally freaking out now. I have called them but no one answers.
Could someone tell me what to do now?

What do you want us to do?

I dunno. did anyone meet this case before?
could someone give me a number which I can reach the officer?
their number is just crushed.

Well, it sounds like your admission will be rescinded for not taking the class. Did the admission officer not explain to you any other alternative?

they say nothing about it. I only miss one composition course accidentally.
I am in a four-year public college and the spot for the course is always so limited.
I am thinking that if I can take it this summer, but I have to explain to some officer first.
I have left them so many voice mail. However, no one has called back…

could someone give me any suggestion please?

you called the ucla admissions people, right?
they’re the only ones who can assist you in this situation…so definitely try to call them til they pick up. if they don’t pick up , maybe try emailing them? but calling them would be better, so you can explain your situation easier and they’ll let know what you can do.

i hope things work out for you :). gluck.

thank you very much.
I am still keep on calling them. it seems like they are never available…
i am almost mad now…

they pick up at 1-4 pm

offer someone money for a spot in the class. (not kidding)

@Philosoup
Thank you very much. I will call them ASAP

it is already pass the deadline for registration.

Well…if you applied stating that you would be taking that course, you should pretty much follow that path. Of course they would rescind your admission. If I were in your position, I’d would have talked to your own school’s admission counselors and professor to allow you in the course. They most-likely want that English course completed because it is a requirement and not optional. And, isn’t it too late for you to enroll in the course? The course is pretty much over.

I’d imagine all your admission decisions would be reevaluated and possibly rescinded at every campus, without the critical required English course being completed

Like what irvine2014 said, this is a requirement and UCs are very strict on that. English is the one that absolutely cannot be missed!! No UC will let you in if you miss that. The best you can do now is to get in the class if possible (maybe in some other local community college?) or else you need to apply next year…

Good luck, I am Chinese too who got admitted to UCLA, hope to see you there:)

You really should’ve treated this more seriously. Not much we can say at this point, contact the counselors and see what they say.

This is the reason why you should complete your 2 English 1 math ASAP. They are a very impacted class

I just register one online Composition class. I tried to update my academic record again but it seems like I am no longer accessible to the website.
I wrote them an e-mail and left a voice-mail. I really wish if they could reconsider about it…

Someone from UCLA just called me this afternoon and congratulated with my admission…
I talked to her and said explained my situation, she seems have no idea with the rescinding for my admission. she just suggested me to keep calling the officer until I can reach them…

hopefully, I am still on their list…
Thank you all those who get into this thread…
