Please Help!!! UW Madison vs UNC CH vs UCSD (and maybe UC Berkeley)

Hi all,
I got accepted by both UW- Madison and UNC-Chapel Hill as a Junior recently, and I believe I have a 70% chance of getting accepted by UCSD. I am an international student, and therefore I will be paying OOS tuition for either school.

I was admitted to the pre-Business major at UW, no major but admitted to the College of Arts and Science at UNC, and intended major of Managerial Science at UCSD. I intend to work in the Finance industry after graduation. However, I have heard that it is extremely hard to get into the KFB- School at UNC, and a bit easier for UW. I also consider the opportunities after graduation.

Another factor I consider is the network of the university. I have heard that UNC has a great network with companies and a weak network for UW (not sure about UCSD).

Apart from the above factors, I also consider is the tuition cost for each university. Based on US News, UNC costs $36K/ yr, $37K for UW, and $43K for UCSD. Besides the higher tuition cost at UCSD, the living cost in Cal will be much higher than the ones in NC and WI too.

I also applied to UC Berkeley, and my applied major is Economics (bc they don’t offer Haas program to all applicants). I would say I have a 25-30% chance of getting accepted by UCB. However, again, the tuition cost, and thus the living cost will be much more expensive when compared to NC and WI.

Please help me out regarding my situation. Thank you so much!!

I would not say the networking is “bad” at UW-Madison but yes UNC is higher ranked in both business and finance. Yes UNC does not allow you to enter into its competitive specialty until sophomore year. Its up to you about the “risk”.

I would choose either UW or UNC over any of the California schools for mostly cost and I dont think California schools would have better “connection” for the price tag.

@2plustrio Thanks for the suggestions!! However, the thing here is that, as UNC’s business program is so competitive, I may have a big chance of majoring in Economics at the end. Regarding Economics, UCSD offers significantly better Econ programs when compared to UNC, according to US News, and no doubt of UC Berkeley.
