Please!!! Help!!! Very urgent!!!

11:58pm

I've already submitted my supplement and commonapp to Yale (both are in Green and the status reads: Submitted 12/31/12), but I have yet to submit my payment.

Payment via credit card doesn't work (keep getting rejected error message - turns out this is because I entered the wrong expiration date on the credit card) so I move on to, in panic, submitting the application fee by "Other Fee Waiver Request".

Obviously, I don't qualify for a fee waiver and haven't been offered one either, but in the spur of the moment I had no other choice, so I clicked OK.

Now that that's all said and done, my Yale app has been submitted. At the strike of midnight, however, I quickly went back to the payment method section to press "Change Method" - which, went through, but now commonapp is either not working properly at the time or, since the deadline's passed, I can't change the method. So now I have a yellow box for incomplete and my entire Yale App shows up as a yellow box.

ARGH!@#! Help someone! Tell me what to do!!! :(((

and please don't berate me for not having submitted my app earlier in the day... it's seriously NOT what I need to be hearing right now.

an URGENT thanks and happy new year to you!

Don’t worry, you will be fine. Admissions reps want to get the best possible applicant pool they can get. They don’t bring out the shredders at midnight and start shredding your application because you turned an item in late. Most admissions are still on vacation until the 6th and then they will start compiling your application forms. I submitted some of my applications late just now.

^ you were still able to submit the CommonApp past the 11:59pm deadline?

And I don’t think you understand… although my Yale app under ‘My Colleges’ showed up as a Green Triangle/Completed, I managed to change payment method before midnight and now my App is just sitting there, uncompleted, yellow, boxed, and I can’t do anything.

ARGH

FRUSTRATED

u feelin’ me?

I hope to god admissions are lenient with this…

You will be fine. Please calm down.

Don’t panic. Straighten it out thru admissions on Wed. Meanwhile send an email to admissions. This happens every year.

But hopefully you have learned a lesson.

The colleges do understand how difficult this is for young people. They’re your parent’s age mostly, sitting there with a 30 year experience gulf and knowing that you need some help. Just phone them and ask, say the magic words,“Can you help me please?”

Find a sympathetic person, five minutes and a few keystrokes and it’s done.
