PLEASE help w/ CAL admission (rescind) question!

I have a question about CAL possibly rescinding my acceptance. I had applied to CAL for the fall but they have accepted me for the Spring. I want to accept the Spring transfer but I am worried about meeting the requirements. In my application for fall I had said I was taking a certain geog class that I ended up dropping and getting a "W" in for this semester at my cc. I had not informed CAL yet since I very recently dropped the course. I did so because I didnt think I was going to get into CAL, was planning on UCD, and no other school but CAL required I take this course. However, now I am in at CAL, to my surprise, and I would like to be able to take the course this coming summer or Fall at my cc since I would not transfer to CAL until the Spring. Do you guys think this will be okay with CAL? Will I get my admission rescinded because I did not complete it this semester like I originally said I would? I have every other requirement met. I already sent an email to my admission's adviser, but I just wanted some general opinions from you guys first! I would be heartbroken if they were to not let me still take the course and thus meet my requirements!

^They may let you slide by due to the Spring Admission.

I would call them, explain your circumstances and see what is up. Personally, I think they will let your retake the course.

thats what I was thinking/hoping! I just dont want this happy high of getting accepted to be taken away!! lol. Thank you! Any more opinions from anyone else would be greatly appreciated! Especially, if you’ve had experience in this before…

BUMP. hopin to get more answers…

i was in a similar situation. is it a prereq?? i think if youre igetc certified it shouldnt really matter, but it could. i dropped a bunch of classes not thinking i would get in and then had to use AP credits to meet the 60 unit minimum. read your admissions contract VERY CAREFULLY. the rule of thumb is you have to email admissions ASAP and let them know you dropped it. your admissions adviser should have good advice on which way to approach this. (whether just to be like o hai i dropped it, or im writing to inform you ill be taking this class in fall not spring) or what. the worst part is they dont always email back! you should get an initial email back like with questions then after that they dont say anything definitive. this happened to myself and a few people I know but we’re here so good luck!
…ucla on the other hand, rescinded me after giving me a hefty scholarship.

Similar situation, here. I’ve written about it at length. Differences between you and I = you are dealing with CAL, I’m dealing with UCLA. There are many people coming to this board with the same issue (dropping a spring semester course and getting a W). Check my post history~

Seems like people who got into spring are really lucky. You have bragging rights that you are in plus you can save up money for things. Not to mention that you can make up any classes that you haven’t taken or didn’t do so well in or dropped. The more I think about it the more I am freaking jealous :)
