I was just wondering if it is possible to transfer to Rutgers SAS in New Brunswick for the Spring 2014. Right now I'm at Montclair and my cumulative GPA is a 2.67 and I know that's kind of low which is why I'm worried to death, but I am determined to bring it up to a 3.10 (did the math) by December. Right now I have all A's in my class so far and will continue to make it stay like that. I know GPA isn't all they are looking for but I commute so it is hard to hear about school clubs or something I can join in. Oh, I will also have about 30 credits. They will probably deny me, but do you guys think I can be reconsidered if I improve my GPA by .40? Please help, I really want to go to Rutgers and major in Computer Science.

So can anyone give me some advice? If you want more info, I will happily give more.

A 3.0 average might be borderline for transfer admittance to SAS, but I am only guessing. They will look at your entire application, so if you are commuting, working a job, etc, they will take note of that.

Worst case scenario: you get denied because your GPA is too low. In that case, just keep doing well and reapply when your GPA is higher.

Oh alright, yeah I heard 3.0 GPA is borderline at Rutgers and I am planning to get a job soon, the thing is I’m not sure if it will show up on my application since it is due tomorrow Oct 01. If they deny me and if I want to apply again for Fall 2014, do you know if the application is waived?

Do you mean the application fee? I doubt it would be waived because you were rejected the first time, but you can call and ask. You may apply for a waiver due to financial hardship.

Sorry - I don’t mean to intrude into this post, but how long does it take Rutgers to make a decision for Spring/January admission (Newark and New Brunswick SAS)? I applied on the fifth of September.
