Please help! What are my chances at the following colleges?

Hi everybody, I'm in a bad situation unfortunately. I'm currently a student at Borough of Manhattan Community College and will graduate this semester with my Associates in BAN Business. I had a very rough high school life where I wasn't able to finish, and ended up receiving my GED instead. So I have no high school history to speak of basically, I got up to the 10th grade with all A's for the most part, but then I stopped attending all together. To keep this short, I basically have no secondary school history (that I'd like to present to admissions at least) other then 3 years at 4 different schools, 3 in NY and 1 in TX. I never took the SAT's, ACT's or any standardized test of any kind.
I haven't done as good as I could've at my current college again due to personal problems and currently have a 3.4 GPA with 51 credits so far. I took English comp 1 and 2, many different electives, and a few math classes as well, all which seem to be requirements to be admitted at most colleges. I've also done some community service work, and have started a few successful online businesses (not sure if this would help to mention or not).
I want to go to a 4-year school to receive my bachelors and I would really like to experience the college life (living in dorms, etc.). And I would prefer to not stay here in NYC, would love to go to Cali or South Fla. I'm 20, was adopted and only one of my step-parents is alive now. I am financially independent and have money saved up and should be able to afford any college I wish.

CLIFFNOTES:
20 years old
Bad high school history, basically non-existent
Received GED
Will graduate at the end of this semester with my Associates
Have a 3.4 GPA at my current college

So I want to get into a school that is good for business. The following is a short list of what I would like to get into, I don't think it's realistic of me to get into them however.
USC -#1
UC Berkley
Stanford
UM

Please tell me if there are any schools I would be accepted to given my lackluster record, and whether or not I should even waste my time applying for the schools above. I would prefer locations in So Cal or South Florida, but I am open to any college. Thanks!!

Sorry, I have no idea! Seems like you will have to convince them through your essays and maybe you should add some colleges which are not the top elite schools since you are in kind of unique situation in my opinion.

Also, I’ve created a few online businesses which have been successful, would that help my chances any?

All those schools are reaches. Stanford accepts extremely few transfer students, and the ones they do accept are usually superstars. You can see their sternly concise description of the transfer process here

http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/application/transfer/index.html

Berkeley and USC will be much easier to get into, but unfortunately, your grades make those school reaches as well.

Miami is noticably less selective than the three schools I just mentioned, and you have an acceptable chance there.

Do apply to Cal and the other reach schools, but universities realistically fitting your preferences and stats include

-UCI
-UCSB
-UCD
-USF
-FSU
-UCF

Thanks for the help, are there any other schools that would fit my criteria? I was considering Boston University as well. Is that a possibility? Thanks

I would agree with bubbles, still apply to those on your list but also apply to other UC’s

-UCI
-UCSB - If you are looking for the “college experience” this place is right on the beach and knows how to party while still having awesome academics. Downside? isolated location
-UCD

it’s not on your list yet but I would highly recommend you apply to UCLA. It is quite a reach, but they take a holistic approach to applications (unlike most UCs) and would probably be more understanding of your situation.

if you are into science/math think about Cal state san louis obispo, it has VERY high rate of employment after graduation, but is isolated (in a very beautiful area though). It isn’t ranked along side UC schools so it is hard to compare online. It is the best of the Cal state schools and is about on par or slightly lower ranked than UCSB.

a socal high school kid

Ok, thanks for your help. One more question. As a first gen hispanic student, on the application does it help to select ‘no’ for will you apply for need based financial aid. Will it help me get accepted. I do plan on applying for FA by the way. Thanks
