Weighted GPA (ONLY 10th and 11th GRADES): 3.82

EC’s:
I am the President of two clubs that i have been in for four years and secretary of another club that i have been in for four years as well. These clubs involve mentoring troubled youth, science competitions, and a college preparatory club.
I am also a lead volunteer at a local animal shelter and I’ve had a job for over a year now. I spend about 16-20 hours a week with all of these things including other extra curricular’s.

I’m interested in:
UC Santa Barbara
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis
UC San Diego
University of Oregon
University of Washington
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo

What are my chances of getting into these colleges?

Just a Californian’s perspective

UC Santa Barbara- reach
UC Santa Cruz- low reach/high match
UC Davis- impossible my guidance counselor said last year’s average was a 4.5
UC San Diego-reach
Cal Poly-low reach/high match

I’d say it’s a reach unless you get your test scores up. UC’s place a lot of value on GPA/Test Scores. You still have a good shot at them though. You should also look into some CSU’s (e.g. SDSU, SJSU).

Intended major?
You have good EC’s with leadership, a decent GPA but not competitive enough for the majority of UC’s. Your test scores are the major flaw and are hurting your chances. All the UC’s on your list had an average UC GPA of 4.0+ along with SAT scores in the 1880 or higher range. You need to bump your test scores by 300 to 400 points to have any realistic chance at these schools including Cal Poly SLO.

Intended major will play a big part in your chances, so that information is needed. Race is not considered in California Public Universities admissions, since they banned affirmative action so no help there.

As of right now, UCSC may be a possiblity. The rest of the schools on your list are Reaches. You should consider UCR/UCM/SDSU/CSULB/SJSU/CSUF/CPP for Match schools.

Good Luck.
