If you need anything else let me know.

I’d say you’ve got a 99% chance of being accepted with this profile. Try to get an interview with an alumnus if you want to “boost” your application, otherwise that’s about all you can do.

Really?! I always though because of my unweighted gpa I wouldn’t get into anywhere prestigious besides maybe UF. This actually gives me hope omg haha. Thanks! @Pancaked‌

Your class rank is more important. Vanderbilt looks for students in the top 10% or 5% of their class. The GPA associated with that rank is less important.

@Pancaked‌ One more thing! The reason my uw gpa is so low is because I got a C in biology my freshman year for both semesters. Since then I’ve taken a liking and interest in biology and even took bio through DE and aced it. Will applying as a bio major mess up my chances into getting in, or do they not even look at majors when applying? Thanks for all the help btw.

Definitely do an interview, my son just had his.

I definitely will now! Hopefully your son’s went well! Good luck!

Have you applied for the merit scholarships? If not, that would be my recommendation. Cancel any impediments and write strong essays for the CV and the Chancellor’s if the deadline allows. It can’t hurt and can only help. That means (I believe) soliciting an additional reference for the Chancellors (which our son did very bashfully on almost the last day of fall term before winter break 6 Decembers ago.) I was embarrassed that he had waited so long to approach a worn out faculty member who was of course intensely busy, but she wrote him a wonderful, unexpected reference, even though he was not very interested in Vanderbilt at that moment and was a RD applicant student. I later learned that not only was she winding up a semester of teaching but she was a wife of a local minister (could she be any busier during the holiday month?). He did prepare for her by putting together a cover letter, a description of the Chancellors and his resume and a statement on “why Vanderbilt” for her review, plus he met with her personally to discuss during one of her few open blocks in her week. Good luck.

totofifo, you are like the prettiest girl at the dance right now or a left handed pitcher that can throw 95mph. With your wonderful accomplishments and applying as an URM not only will you get in but you should receive a large scholarship at any university you apply to. As noted above, apply for merit scholarships. I suspect they will find a way to give you one.
