I was wondering if I apply to an engineering major and get denied, will I still get into the school as a whole?

Thanks in advance to everyone who replies!!!

If you apply to UMich CoE EA and got deferred, you may contact the admission office and switch to LSA. You will not be automatically considered for other schools at UMich. Once you are rejected, that is the end of the application. This is different from Ross pre-admission that one may still be accepted on LSA.
Your uwGPA is below the admission average for LSA and even more for CoE. Your current SAT score is below the 25th percentile for UMich overall while your ACT 31 is at (or near) the 25th percentile for CoE. Your ACT Math score is also at or below the 25th percentile for CoE. So CoE would be a reach for your from OOS while LSA may be a low reach.

does anyone know where exactly i stand for admission into LSA? I am considering finance as major. Also, how hard is it to switch majors if I decide either econ or engineering is not right for me?

For LSA, your ACT is slightly above 25th percentile but below admission average (mid 50 30-34 and median 32). Your GPA is in the same situation. From OOS, it would be low reach to reach.
