Please help with college search!

Hi, I am a high school senior and I havent applied anywhere yet!

Gpa: 2.5
ACT: 19

I want somewhere with a nice campus and good academics--tuition doesnt matter-- and I just generally want it to be a good place to live.
PLEASE HELP

list as many schools as you can and with reasons please..!

I plan on studying Business, like Management or Operations Management

What state are you from? Cost is no issue? Have you visited any schools? Do you prefer large or small? How would you define a “good place?” There are 3000 colleges in the U.S. and there is certainly one for you. Give us a litle more info to help.

first your complete stats, please.

Is it that your parents can pay any amount or YOU don’t care about the cost?

tuition doesnt matter– and I just generally want it to be a good place to live.
PLEASE HELP

Does that mean that your parents will pay $50k per year for wherever you want to go?

[Programs of Study](http://cazenovia.edu/Default.aspx?tabid=236) Cazenovia, NY, nice town!

[SUNY Cobleskill | School of Business](<a href=“404 Error”>404 Error) Cobleskill, NY, another one

Check out these schools, you did not say what state you lived in or far away from home you wanted to be!

[Business Administration at Colby-Sawyer College](http://www.colby-sawyer.edu/business/index.html) Colby-Sawyer, New London, NH

All 3 have Business, very lovely campuses & less competitive for gaining admission.

Take a look at the regional colleges. They are relatively easy to get into and if you want to goto a college with beautiful setting, I’d also suggest Colby-Sawyer!

I live in Chicago and I would prefer to go out of state.
I havent visited any school… and I prefer larger schools, public. Private is good too as long as theres no religious affiliation.
a “good place to live” would be somewhere considered safe I guess and good weather; not a big fan of humidity.

Thanks SLUMOM and confidential2015!

I have included some public, out-of-state, small/medium/large sized universities below. These universities(US News categorizes them as Regional Colleges) are relatively easier to get into. I hope this helps:

University of Maine-Farmington
University of Maine-Augusta
University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown
University of Pittsburgh-Bradford
Shepherd University
Dakota State University
University of Minnesota-Crookston
Lake Superior State University

Everyone,

I think we should assume that she meant that tuition is not an issue because she is rich. Just look at the way she formulates her replies. It’s almost as if the posts were consecutively posted without anyone else’s post in between. Also, I’d bet on her being painfully attractive. It’s one of those things you pick up in life.

@Sam

:D I’ll slink away now. I have no knowledge to offer you. I’m sorry.

confidential2015:
Yes, it did help me, thanks! I appreciate it.

What do you want in a school.

Certainly there are some commuter schools that will accept you, but if you want a residential campus with a full campus experience, that may be a problem.

What do you want in a campus?

A residential campus would be nice. I’m not sure how to describe what I want but I know I wouldn’t like something like UIC or San Francisco State. Maybe something like Iowa State or Ohio State. They seem like they have a good campus to live on… Schools like that.

I want to live in a big city. A well-known university would be ideal

[Admission Home | Chatham University](http://www.chatham.edu/admissions/)

Chatham (for women) I understand is located in a nice neighborhood, within walking distance of other Pittsburgh colleges. Business major as well.

“well known university”'s admission criteria may not match your stats. So if “well known” means highly ranked school to you, it may be rather difficult to gain acceptance.

A “well-known” university is not likely going to accept you because your ACT and GPA are low.

First you need to identify schools that will accept you that aren’t commuter/suitcase schools.

You have to be realistic about your choices.

Did you try the college search feature on cc? It will rank order them on whatever criteria you set (big city, your gpa, sats etc). I found it really useful actually, better than college board’s search.
