In the figure above, y + z =

The answer is 245, but idk how to get it

bump for answer

is it 245?

Yes, idk how to get i tho

(180-y)+(180-Z) + 65= 180

65 is got by
180-115 because of vertical angles.

then just solve the equation

sorry not good at explaining…

By the Polygon Exterior Angle Sum Theorem, 115 + y + z = 360.
Subtract 115 from both sides of the equation.
y + z = 245 degrees

This is EXACTLY how I did it. The angles of the triangle say ‘‘65’’, ‘‘180-y’’, and ‘‘180-z’’. Hope I helped!

Alternate solution:

Label “a” for the interior angle adjacent to the 115 degree angle.
Label “b” fpr the interior angle adjacent to the y angle.
Label “c” for the interior angle adjacent to the z angle.

By supplementary angles,
a + 115 = 180
b + y = 180
c + z = 180

Add all three equations together.
a + b + c + y + z + 115 = 540

Since angles a, b, and c form the interior angles of a triangle,
a + b + c = 180

By substitution of a + b + c = 180,
180 + y + z + 115 = 540
y + z = 245
