i am not a big star at maths...haven't had any in 4 years, but this site usually helps me with the big "what is?" questions

i know what a prime number is...but what about "distinct" prime numbers??

for example: how many prime factors are in 15.. the answer is 2 because when you factor it out the factors are 1,3,5,15. 3 and 5 are prime numbers. Distinct just means how many different prime factors are in the number
