<p>I know uiuc does not accept letters of rec, and I specifically told/emailed my teacher not to but he did anyway. He "thought" he was sending it to uic, which really annoys me. UIUC specifically says they "strongly discourage students from sending it and all letters will be shredded"... I am so worried this will affect me negatively, I don't know what my teacher was thinking. I am borderline for their business program, and this could set them off. Please help, do you think this will lower my chances of getting in? </p>
<p>teacher’s fault shouldn’t affect you…but i don’t really know…could write to them or something explaining the problem?</p>
<p>I was considering that, but I don’t want to sound like someone who is blaming another person. I don’t know how I would write to uiuc without giving them that impression, even though I strongly believe I am not the person to blame. I don’t know what to do, anyone else? </p>
<p>This most likely won’t be a problem. They will just get rid of the rec and not consider it but you should call and make sure.</p>
<p>It will be fine. They will discard the recommendation. Not your fault. Try emailing.
