to dart92, thank you very much for your advice! I will definitely lighten up the load for next year. I also plan to take an SAT course over the summer.

to ECazndb8r, thank you for defending my mentality. I will take your advice into consideration also.
Do any of you go to boarding school or have you all graduated?

Don’t mind all the sarcastic responses, I think it’s entirely plausible that you wouldn’t know.

If you have one or two B’s from early on in high school, you will be OK. That alone won’t disqualify you from a top tier school (don’t get the idea that the only good schools are Ivy League). You know that your PSAT score is low. I think you should focus on bringing your SAT up. PSAT doesn’t really matter for anything, but it is a predictor of SAT score. supposing your score increases a normal amount between junior and sophomore year, you’ll have about a 1700. You should aim to break 2000 on the SAT to be competive at top 20 schools, and even that is weak for those schools. The most efficient use of your time, that I see, would be preparation for the SAT, or ACT if you choose.

Also, you mentioned that you’re the class president. Look to do something special in that position. There are thousands of class presidents across the country, so what will set you apart? If someone asked you what you are most proud of achieving as president, you should have an answer other than simply getting elected.

So, those are my thoughts. You can still get into a really good school, but it’s going to take a lot more work. Your grades are on track, but your test scores definitely have room for improvement.

How would this be entirely plausible that she wouldn’t know that a B will not kill her? That’s complete bull*; any averagely intelligent highschooler, even a middle schooler, would know that a B will not do *.

Really now? And she wants to go to an IVY? Maybe we should just all look at every little B we ever got in highschool and give up our hopes a dreams. And your saying that this is ok to not understand…

Overreaction? I think so. Someone who hangs around CC is going to know a lot about college admissions, so it may seem ludicrous to you that she wouldn’t know. But she is just a sophomore who probably hasn’t talked at length about college with anyone that really knows their stuff. I think it’s plausible. And either way, what is it to you? Does the thought that someone might be worried about their chances at an Ivy League school really make you that angry?

I promise not everyone on CC’s this harsh lolagirl30… All the replies I’ve gotten in threads have been extremely helpful. So keep posting and don’t be discouraged

Seriously eurosport360? If a sophomore came up to you asking if her gpa was alright you’d reply, “That’s complete bull*; any averagely intelligent highschooler, even a middle schooler, would know that a B will not do *.” ?

^^^^^^

Dude, i miss her from AOTS. She was so hot.
