I just viewed the major prerequisites form, and noticed that it says if there are a series of courses for me to complete, then I must take all courses in the same school. I was actually aware of this since before. However, somehow when I read it again today something just popped into my mind and I am seriously worried about the situation I might be in.

I am now not sure if Berkeley considers San Jose City College and Evergreen valley college the same school. I know this question sounds strange because they are identified by two names. However, I have always thought they are the same school. Many students go between these two campuses to take classes. And we really think it is the same thing. I use the same student ID for both school. I'm even using the same parking sticker for both school. They are in one district and all the courses and school systems are the same. They are regraded as san jose/evergreen community college district.

I took my first calculus class in series at San jose city college, but took the second one in Evergreen valley college. I really need to know if Berkeley will take them as different schools or same? of course I will go to school later and check it out, but it is weekend, so I have to wait. So I am asking it just in case somebody go there as well, maybe you guys know about it.

I have no idea where you heard that they have to be taken at the same school. I took all my pre-req’s between three different CC’s and I’m at Berkeley. Just finish all the pre-req’s on time and have the transcripts of the school’s sent to the CC at which you are officially transferring from (i.e. the last school before transfer you are attending). For example I had 5 pre-req’s I had to take. I did 1 at SMC, 2 at LACC, and 2 (plus all my gen-ed) at Fresno City. Those are 3 completely different districts.

In regards to your “same campus/different names dilema”, it depends on the districting. For example, the towns surrounding Fresno that have CC campuses are Reedley/Fresno and Clovis/Madera and they are all under the same district, the Clovis/Madera is called “north Centers” and the Reedley/Fresno is called “fresno city college district (which also includes a campus extention in clovis called willow international”. So any classes taken at the extended campuses are under the main campus name on your transcript, get it? So just do some research to clarify what you already thought about where your classes were taken. Chances are, if you can enroll for classes at different campuses all at the same place, then they are all apart of the same district.

Paniikd,

Thanks for your response. I did not hear it just randomly from somewhere. It is actually noted on the official form which we will being submitting soon.

I think you do can take classes anywhere you want, as long as those classes are not directly related to one other. What I am talking about is the courses that complete a series. For example: chemistry 1A and 1B.

my two schools are in the same district, tho. but I am still worried .

sister schools, you’re fine.

thanks! I really hope so.

Its not the weekend now, so why dont you just go ask them about it…

Yeah, since it’s the vacation, I haven’t gotten a chance to go to school. The admission office should be open during winter, right? I figure this forum has many people who have a great amount of knowledge regarding transferring, so why not try my luck and ask for some help, just maybe someone out there knows about my problem. hehe.
