i know that i want to be an engineer in the future but not sure which one out of these 3 mechanical, electrical or aerospace.
can someone list the pros and cons of these

Id do either me or ee based on what you like. This allows more flexibility to identify what you really want to do.

like i wanna know like the work environment, salary, and specifically what each job requires me to do

I chose AeroE because aerospace technology and fluid mechanics interest me the most. As for ME vs. EE, it may be simply which area of physics is more appealing to you, thermal physics or electricity and magnetism.

thanks everyone this really helps, my friends keep telling me different things

You need to look on websites like indeed.com or simplyhired and type in “electrical engineering” or “mechanical engineering” and read the job descriptions. I think both mechE and EE are great majors and can give you a good salary depending on which industry you work in (e.g. Oil and or semiconductors or water/wastewater). Read up, narrow it down to three industries, and report back to us.

If you have a 3.5 gpa by graduation expect to be makkng in the 60k to 80k range just FYI

Definitely read all the information in the links that boneh3ad provided. The Dept of Labor provides a multitude of information that can answer your questions. It’s an excellent resource.

If your parents have really deep pockets or you love flying things, then Aero, otherwise Mech or EE :)

Seriously, it all boils down to what you’re interested in and whether you can stomach the longer job search for Aero vs ME/EE. I spent a lifetime building model airplanes yet stayed away from Aero, figuring out (in the late 70’s and early 80’s) that there were very few companies designing Aero related stuff. Turned out I was right.

At the same time, seeing the picture of Virgil Grissom in the hallway at Grissom Hall as I went to class at Purdue and knowing what he and his fellows accomplished… Yea, it’s ‘safer’ to be yet another EE/ME but as I said, if you have the ‘Aero’ bug then go for it.
