please help :)

i am a junior in high school and i am starting to look at a lot of schools in chicago, because that's the area i'm set on attending. (i live near pittsburgh)

i've done some research on the university of illinois @ chicago, such as cost, acceptance rate, majors, ect. but i have a list of about 8 chicago schools i'm looking at and i need to narrow it down to about 3.

so if anyone is willing to tell me a little bit about the university it would be greatly appreciated :) such as what the location is like and if it's near downtown, what the atmosphere is like, if students/teachers are generally friendly, ect.

thanks!!

Hey blue eyez, I do not attend UIC but I have a bunch of friends that do. It's mostly a commuter school as it is in chicago. It's not in downtown but it's pretty damn close, it's near Greektown. The great thing about UIC is that it's in Chicago. However it's a communter school so the social life won't be as easy as a typical college town. But you'll be liven their so it won't be too much of a problem. I think this is an underrated academic school and has pleanty of upside. My friends said the teachers are pretty cool. My favorite thing about UIC is that it's super diverse with different races, cultures, and creeds hanging out with each other.
