Please help

Hey! I have following problem. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could give me some advice.
I want to become a nurse.
My original plan was to get a bachelors degree in nursing. I did some research and I found out that it is very hard to get into the nursing school. Ucla only accepts 50 students a year. I have tons of clinical experience and good recommendation letters from doctors. My biggest worry is my gpa. Ucla accepts students for nursing with a minimum of 3.5. I am an international student and I struggled a lot during my first year at community college. I improved my English a lot since then. My current gpa is 3.4
I am aware of the work what I need to do in hospital. I have at least over 400 Hours of volunteer work (if not even more)
The counselor told me I could get another degree first (an easy one wih less units) She told me I could get a sociolgy degree and then apply for an acclerated nursing program.
Right now I live with my relatives in la and I safe right now a lot of money on rent and stuff.
Here is my problem. It is more a money issue for me!
The thing is if dont get into ucla for nursing. I need to apply outside of LA for schools and then I need to pay for rent and school. I don't have the money to afford it for 2 years to support myself.
I was now thinking what if I apply for ucla for a health related major (not nursing) and then transfer to any school within the US and apply for an accelerated nursing program, which is 12 months! I think I can manage it with the money and things to go anywhere in the US for a year. The other thing is nursing school is from 8 to 5 everyday. The schedule is a fixed plan. I can't support myself then.

Could you tell me which majors at ucla are easy to get it/less units?

For example I would apply for sociolgy can I pick the classes which would fit into my schedule? As like in comminity college. I work as a nanny right now and I get some extra $. If go for nursing for 2 year I don't have time to have another job.
This nursing accelerated program makes really a lot of sense to me and I am pretty open where to go for a year in the US.

This was a lot to read and I hope u understood what I was trying to say. :) thank u!!

Oh and one more thing  the reason why I want to get another degree first is also that I could improve my English a bit more and boost my gpa up! I know I can do it! And what I was trying to say is that nursing school for 2 year anywhere a outside of LA is everyday form 8 to 4 or 5 and thAt for 2 years… I don’t have the money. I can do it for one year, Money wise. But not for 2. This is why I would like go get a bachelors degree first where I can pick the classes which fit into my schedule and I can still work and save some money.

If you really want to be a RN and that matter more to you than going to UCLA, then there are many other places in Los Angeles where you can accomplish that. You can go to Mount Saint Mary’s, or even a nursing program at a community college (you won’t get a BSN, but you can still become a RN).
