Please help!

Hey everyone, I am an upcoming senior in high school and I really want to go to Penn State Main. I live in Pennsylvania and I am planning to major in Chemical Engineering. I am also Asian, and my parents did not graduate high school. I’m kind of worried that I won’t be accepted because my GPA and SAT score. What are my chances of being accepted into Penn State - University Park?

GPA is a 3.31 unweighted
SAT is 1080 out of 1600
Class Rank is 162/401
Received Honor Roll for 10th and 11th grade so far.

I have taken 5 honors courses so far throughout high school. I took 2 years of Spanish too.
My senior year, I am taking AP Chemistry, AP Calc AB, Honors Physics, Honors Senior English, and other elective courses. I have never taken a study hall.

Here all the extracurricular activities that I have done throughout high school and I am planning to do next year
Concert Choir - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th
Concert Band - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th
Marching Band - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th (major time commitment) One of the best in the state
Indoor Percussion - 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th (major time commitment) Recent finalist in world championships
Spring Musical - 11th, 12th (major time commitment)
Madrigals (acapella choir) - 11th, 12th (audition required)
Orchestra - 9th, 10th
Summer Musical - 12th
Fall Play - 12th
Key Club - 10th (total of 25 hours)
Stage Crew - 9th (only for the fall play)
County Band - 11th (selective)
PMEA District Choir - 11th (audition required)

I hope this is enough information, but if not, you can ask questions!

You are a little below their middle 50% statistics for GPA and SAT, which could definitely put you at a disadvantage. I put this school at a reach level for you, simply because of your GPA and SAT. However, your activities show great dedication, and this could help you there. I would probably rank this as a high match or reach- if possible, retake the SAT or try the ACT- one test may be better for you than the other.

Yup definitely retake the SAT or take the ACT.
