Please help

I was accepted to SDSU as a transfer student with a 3.8 GPA. However, I am currently failing two of my classes. I have terrible testing anxiety, but thus far been able to get by and maintain strong grades. This semester, my testing anxiety is so bad that I cannot seem to pass my exams.

Does anyone have suggestions as to what my next move should be? Should I take W’s in my classes, and reapply in a year. Should I continue to try and pass these classes, and take the risk of getting D’s or F’s?

I feel extremely defeated and at a loss for what to do.

Go to your school counseling center and make an appointment immediately. Go to your advising office and discuss your options for withdrawing. Do this right after you make a counseling appointment. You need to know what your options are and none of us knows your college’s deadlines.

Have you been to professor office hours, the tutoring center, watched online videos, put forth your best effort to pass, etc…? What brought on the current state of anxiety? Was it transferring? Why did you transfer? Was it out of necessity, or to escape something that you haven’t properly addressed? Find the root of the problem with the help of a counselor and that will help you overcome your anxiety.

Glad you’ve gotten some great advice, above. Just wanted to wish you the best.

Thank you for the reply. I go to tutoring twice a week and the math learning center in-between work and class. I don’t know why things are worse this semester, but it is really devastating. I will talk to my counselor immediately. Thank you.
