hi everyone,

i am currently a student at the Johns Hopkins University, and i am planning to apply for transferring to UPENN next year.

is there any advice on my application?

please help! thank you very much!!!
mybigdream is online now

Any reason for the transfer?

thanks for yr reply.

becuz i dun think Johns Hopkins University is a famous skool. and to me, reputation is very important.

John hopkins is a VERY famous school. I would say that JH is up there with Penn.

Anyways, we need this info.

1- What are you studying?
2- Which college are you planning to transfer to?
3- Are you an international student? Because you sure seem like one.
4- If your planning to transfer to Penn just because it is an ivy, then please know that is one of the lamest excuses for transfering schools.

Also, fyi I think JH undergrad is currently #14 on the US news college rankings list.

ummmm .... Johns Hopkins has a really great reputation, ESPECIALLY if you are interested in medicinal studies. Even still, it has a great international relations program and many other. Reputation is NOT the right reason to leave Johns Hopkins. Baltimore might be the right reason though :-)

Mybigdream is trying to transfer to: Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Penn, and Columbia............. (Check their forums)

Your one of those "I want to go to an Ivy school so I can brag about it when I come back home" type of guys >.<

Stay in JH..... Your lucky that you got accepted there in the first place

Hi there!

My primary major is International Studies.

I am also double majoring in East Asian Studies and minoring in Economics.

I just found Johns Hopkins really depressing.

and yes, I am international student. Joeyjoey, are you international student as well? sounds like you are one.

To Joeyjoey,

thank you for telling me the ranking.

this is also one of the MAJOR reasons why i am so frustrated.

JOHNS HOPKINS is definitely MUCH MUCH MUCH better than cornell (they accepted like 200 students from singapore over a few years), dartmouth (its top ten becuz yah its an ivy), northwestern (it can never be compared to hopkins) and wash u (this is just so lame).

the ranking is i would say amazingly inaccurate.

not that I care much but Northwestern can definitely be compared to Hopkins for anything but medicine/medicine related studies. In journalism, Northwestern's Medill is a clear favorite, for A&S, many would take Northwestern over Hopkins anyday.
