My SAT was 97th percentile and I have always been a 4.0 in highschool and was on the deans list 4 times through college. The main reason I have gotten such grades in these classes is because my father was going through an open heart surgery and I was taking care of both my siblings, so I had to miss class sometimes and wouldn’t have time to study for exams. But I’m not complaining or making excuses because everything happens for a reason.
You still can make it up, if you think you are that good. Get a high mcat (think 95%) and go to SMP and ace that program, you still have a chance in MD or DO programs.
Extending a year is a good idea, but don’t do it in UG. Smp is the way to go. It will cost you about 80k though. Thought the gwu program is popular. A kid I know went there he is in MD school now.
Thank You so much!!! you’re one of the few so far that gave me hope!!!
Yes
Just to give you some encouragement. The kid went to gwu for Smp had a Gpa of 3.2 and old Mcat about 32 but he did not have that many Cs like you do, he just got a lot of Bs. He was a bio major. Graduated top 25% of the class at Smp did not get in gwu but an md school.
That definitely is encouraging! You’re the best fam!
The first criteria for admission to medical school is whether an applicant can handle the academics of medical school.
Your subpar performance in most of your medical school science prerequisites make you a failure risk. I agree that you need a SMP.

The Mcat is important for admittance to SMP program given the BCMP Gpa.

I realize that. I was questioning the OP’s belief that “Feeling good about the MCAT,” was some sort of guarantee of a good score. Lol
