Could I transfer to another school and change my major at the same time; by some time next school year, I should have a car, but I can't change my major to art right now because the art program doesn't offer online classes, and online classes are my main, and almost only, way of taking classes.

Please reply. I need to know if there's a way to transfer, then change major.

When you apply to another school, you're supposed to indicate what major you want to study. If an art major at the school you're interested in studies within a College of Art and you gain admission into the general college (CAS) at that university then you may run into problems internally transferring after you get there. If you transfer in as a junior, you are basically going to be stuck with whatever you start. Sophomores would probably have more leniency.

Well, here is my predicament:
I originally intended to go to my local community college (Trinity Valley Community College, if you stay close enough in Texas to know) and get my basic classes done, but by the time I started college, I realized that, mainly because my dad has to work so much and not being able to get a car, I won't be able to take those basic classes. Instead, I decided to major in computer science and get my associate's in that and take most of the classes online. Considering the fact that I have a limited form of transportation, this may not be possible in the amount of time that I wish (2 years), and I also wish to change my major to art and transfer to another college, after next year.

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to transfer to the college I wish (SFA State University) before my sophomore year because I wouldn't even have a car to move by then. What should I do?

please help.
