Please help!

Do I need to resend in my CSS Profile (of which I sent it in already in 2007) to the colleges I have applied to? I am thinking this because there are a few alterings in the data and they require revisings for the year of 2008. Yet, will there be an extra cost??$$ Or is it that after you revise the form, sending it in requires no additional cost?

You need to check your school requirements. IF they require the Profile for financial aid renewal, you MUST file the 2008-2009 Profile which is based on the 2007 tax year. Is this the one you already sent? Or are you saying that you applied last year for financial aid (for this current school year)? Financial aid applications are done every year. You cannot use last year’s forms for this coming year’s financial aid (if that is what you are asking).

Now…if you submitted your Profile early (for priority consideration, for example), and you need to change the figures to reflect your accurate 2007 tax information, that is a different question. Yes…you need to update that information. You need to call the college(s) to find out their procedure. Usually, if you have already submitted and are updating a Profile, you print it out, and hand write in the corrections. The college will tell you where to mail it…or if they have a different procedure.

If you are amending your current Profile (by hand), you are not resubmitting it through the College Board. You cannot update your Profile online and have the college board resubmit, like you do on the FAFSA. So…you do it by hand, and it’s free.

If you are filling out a NEW Profile for a NEW school year, then yes, you pay annually.

thanks for the info
as a senior in hs,i was asking if I need to resend the profile in if I sent it in already from some colleges I applied to last semester (one of them was ED)

Did you get accepted ED? If so, that’s the only school you should be dealing with.

If not…call all the schools and find out how the SCHOOLS want you to handle updates to the Profile. They will tell you what to do and to whom you should mail it.
