I gave the old SAT in january and my score was:

Math : 760

On my june SAT II’s i got,

Math IIC : 800

Will the colleges accept my old SAT scores or should I give the NEW SAT??

are my scores enough to get me into univs like UC Berkeley, Stanford, MIT,Illinois at Urbana Champagne, Carnegie Melllon etc.???

should i retake any of the tests?? im thinking abt retaking the physics since my percentile will be somwhere around 80-85. Please advise.

um, your scores seem alright apart from your verbal, for which you should maybe retake. If your are submitting the old SAT, all of these colleges also need an SAT II writing, so you might as well take the new SAT I. Its cool, your interested in many of the same places i am =P. btw, it also depends a lot on your grades. gl on those engineering colleges

I think most colleges will take old scores, but they want the new SAT I.

I personally wouldn't take anything where you got >=750 on a subject test (I got a 760 on Chem), but that's up to you. Do you really think that you can do a lot better?

As for the admits, Stanford and MIT are always a toss up. They're infamous for their crazy shifts in what they want in their applicants. UCB depends, are you in state? If not, then it's really tough to get into any UC school. For UIC and Carnegie, I'd say you're lookin' good, depending on your EC's and recommendations.

other than that, will colleges be happy vid only 2 sat II's(SINCE THERE ISNT ANY DIFF. BETWEEN MATH IC AND IIC)???

and lotus123, i live in india but have permanent residenship (green card) of america of california............so does that count as being in state?????

hey sachit, i think that you have to take the new SAT because you dont have an SAT II writing, which most colleges require along with the old SAT.

yeah you need to take the new SAT, & some colleges require 3 SAT II's (I believe Carnegie Mellon does of the ones on your list, but I could be wrong).

Given good grades & EC's, your tests are fine for all but Stanford & MIT (moreso Stanford b/c MIT weights the math more).

I think you got a great shot at illinois. My brother was accepted from out of state with a 1380 SAT for their electrical engineering school. Btw, how are your grades? With A's and B's you should be able to get in, but as always there are no guarantees. Good Luck! Hope you get what you want.
