Please I need an answer within a few hours!!!!!

AP exams deadline for sign up is up in 20 hours. I need to know whether or not I should take the calc BC test again.

I got a 3 on it last year and I want to get a 5.

I already took Calc III and I know a great resource to study from

I'm taking 6 other AP exams so it would sauk.
Micro, macro, western civ, chem, physics C mech, Lang & comp

I don't know if the credit offered if I get a five would be worth it because by the end of my senior year, I would already have completed A LOT of college math courses. And the credits offered for the Calc BC test only covers the beginners classes (Correct me if I'm wrong)

TELL ME what to DOOOOO

btw, I want to get in to MIT so it would look better on my resume than a 3.

Retake the Calc BC test.

You might consider dropping western civ test so you have more time to devote to the Calc BC test - especially if shooting for MIT.

I agree w/ chemEgrad western civ might be useful, but not so much as retaking the Calc BC test. MIT will definetley be more enthusiastic if you make higher than a 3 on the next exam. So hurry and sign up! Drop the West Civ!

i agreeeeeeeeeee

Since when is there a AP Western Civ? Does he mean AP European History?

lol i was wondering the same thing ^

Yeah, there is no AP Western Civ. :p

Anyway, I don’t know that I would retake it. Most of the colleges I recall looking at accept 3’s for Calc BC. If you want to retake it for admissions purposes, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt, but (unless MIT/other colleges you’re looking at require a 4 or 5 on it for credit), I probably wouldn’t bother retaking it.

i never looked into MIT but I would imagine a 5 on the calc BC test is a platform to START looking at MIT from (or am i deluding myself about how rigorous their admissions standards are?)

If you can fit it in, taking it makes good sense. You should be able to go up based on your later Calculus course, and if you study, it is even better.

A 5 on the Calc BC can be scored with less than 70% correct. A 3 is close to 50% correct - not really mastery of the topic, IMO. You can see why MIT would consider this score carefully.
