I am looking for a college/university that has fairly small classes, student to teacher interaction, a strong economics program, a strong/decent language program, and is in the northeast. ALSO i'd like if it was near or in a metropolitan/town area, but with a campus. i know everyone wants merit aid at this point in time, and with my stats i do not have the BEST chance (89-94 upward trend in GPA, 30 ACT) to get substantial aid... but, it's worth a try. I really need some more safety/match schools so please give me advice!

Burlington Vermort hosts the University of Vermont. Great small city, great outdoors. It is a smaller school, in the northeast. I don't know about its language programs, but if I recollect, it has a pretty good econ department. Not as good as Ann Arbor or DC, but decent I heard.

I is more a match than a safety. Or maybe University of New Hampsire, Durham, NH, most people there go for a business major.

With the ACT score, you could go a little farther but those are the ones that sprung out on me as safeties.

Have you pinned down a "true" safety yet? This is a school that has to admit you based on your stats and that you can pay for without any financial aid other than federal financial aid. Have you thoroughly checked out your home-state public universities to find one (or more) that offers the majors you are interested in? Have you looked at local or other in-state community colleges that can give you a solid basis in your majors before you transfer?

Find yourself just one true safety where you know you can be reasonably happy if the rest of the process goes completely haywire. If it is rolling admissions, apply immediately. With that school in the bag, the rest of your college search process is going to feel a lot less stressful.

Good luck!
