after browsing through the ED thread, I’m really wondering if I should even apply to Brown.

ACT- 27
SATII- Chem - 670
Lit. - 570
Math II- 520
SAT I - don’t know yet, but will be TERRIBLE, so it doesn’t matter.

GPA- 4.0, shared with 14 others
RANK- 1/472

course load- compared to everyone else in my class-- crazy rigorous. have taken 2 ap’s so far, 3 more this year and gotten As in class, but have never passed an ap exam. others all advanced.

teacher recs- aren’t they all the same?? mine are good, makes you want to meet me

counselor form- will be good

essays" i’m a very creative writer, and i think i will address my poor standardized scores and emphasize my unique character, perseverance

You sound so much like me that it's scary. We share similar interests. But you know, keep the faith. Nobody ever knows exactly what adcoms are looking for.

I'm going to have to say it's unlikely. I hate to bring down your hopes, so you should definitely apply anyway. Your ACT score isn't really in their range and your SAT II scores are kind of bad, compared to other applicants Also, although you have a 4.0 GPA, so do 14 others in your school, so they will think you go to an easy school, especially since you have such high grades in the AP class and low grades on the test. If you are good enough to get recruited in tennis or soccer, then you may have a shot, but if not, I don't think so...sorry. Apply anyway, though. I mean, if you love it that much, who am I to discourage you? Good luck!

Your school's grades will look very inflated...

scores will hurt a lotttt...my advice is just send in ACT and not any of the SATs or SAT IIs...your ACT is around 25%ile for ppl who got accepted.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR THE FEEDBACK!
On the online application, it asks for all tests you've taken, should I list all of mine??? Also, on the high school transcript a record of all the tests I've taken will show up. So is it shady of me to just list my ACT score??? should i list all the other ones even though they're bad, b/c at least I will look honest???

It has nothing to do with honesty. They give you the option to take either the act or sat + the sat subject tests. It's no big deal to them one way or the other, especially since you come from an ACT-centric area.
